| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je popsat aktivity Národního filmového archivu v oblasti zahraniční propagace české filmové kultury a distribuce mířené za hranice České republiky. Zabývá se koncepční podporou zahraniční distribuce současné české filmové tvorby vykonávanou oddělením Czech Film Center, zejména pak ale konkrétními distribučními aktivitami obchodního oddělení realizovanými v oboru archivního filmu.
Teoretická část popisuje specifika české kinematografie a její uplatnitelnost v zahraničí, distribuci jako součást procesu výroby a exploatace filmu a problematiku filmové distribuce mimo stát, ve kterém film vznikl.
Náplní praktické části je pak popis činností obou zmíněných oddělení organizace vycházející z hloubkových rozhovorů se zaměstnanci Národního filmového archivu a analýza výnosů dosažených obchodním oddělením NFA v roce 2015. Z té vyplývá popsaná charakteristika zahraničních odběratelů služeb NFA a podrobně zmapované způsoby uplatnění českého archivního filmu v současné zahraniční distribuci. |

| Abstract: | The main goal of this thesis is to describe the activities of the National Film Archive in promotion of Czech film culture abroad and in foreign sales. Primarily it focuses on the activities of the sales department in the field of Czech archive film foreign sales. It deals with the conceptual support of distribution of contemporary Czech film abroad (which is an agenda of the Czech Film Center) as well.
The theoretical part describes the specifics of Czech cinematography and its sales potential abroad, also deals with distribution as a part of the process of production and exploitation of the film and with the aspects of foreign film sales.
The practical part presents the activities of the two departments of the National Film Archive. The conclusions are based on in-depth interviews with employees of the organization. It also contains an analysis of sales achieved by the sales department in 2015. This analysis leads to defining the characteristics of foreign sales customers of the organization and to description of the distribution windows in which the foreign sales of archive films are contemporarily applied. |
