Economic analysis of water corridor Danube – Oder – Elbe

Diploma's thesis deals with a complex examination of costs and benefits of the project of intended canal interconnection of the rivers Danube, Oder and Elbe being a part of the desired degree of infrastructure of inland waterway under the AGN agreement ratified by the Czech Republic in the nineties of the twentieth century. In the first part, the paper describes the genesis of the project of the canal Danube-Oder-Elbe and presents theoretical and methodological tools system standardly used to assess the social gain of linear structures proposals. In the second application part, the thesis designes a special indicators system classification capable of quantifying the economic value of the planned water project which is specific as for its size and life expectancy; elaborate summarizes the accounting balance sheet items of the water corridor described in numerous scientific literature contributions and quantifies implicit costs and benefits of the corridor Danube-Oder-Elbe, which affects the potential of the multiplier effect and especially relevant environmental impacts.
