| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá významem a přínosem přeshraniční spolupráce, zejména na česko-polské hranici. Teoretický základ práce zahrnuje výklad základních pojmů a vytyčení obecného rámce vývoje přeshraniční spolupráce na úrovni Evropské unie a České republiky. Dílčí část pojednává o přeshraniční spolupráci v kontextu teorií regionálního rozvoje, o významu přeshraniční spolupráce v kohezní politice a způsobu její podpory. Analytická část je věnována charakteristice předpokladů pro rozvoj česko-polské přeshraniční spolupráce od počátku 90. let 20. století do současnosti včetně analýzy limitujících faktorů a nevyužitého potenciálu se zvláštním zaměřením na Euroregion Glacensis a Euroregion Nisa. Cílem práce je zhodnotit česko-polskou přeshraniční spolupráci a význam vybraných realizovaných projektů s dopadem na rozvoj příhraniční oblasti. Ze závěrů práce vyplývá, že česko-polská přeshraniční spolupráce nabývá v současnosti stále většího významu nejen v důsledku větší finanční podpory umožněné novým cílem kohezní politiky Evropská územní spolupráce, ale zejména díky místním iniciativám komunit v příhraničních oblastech, jejichž potřeby jsou odraženy v konkrétních projektech přeshraniční spolupráce. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis discusses the significance and the benefits of cross-border cooperation, especially on the Czech-Polish border. The theoretical part of the thesis includes an interpretation of the fundamental terms and concepts and lays out the general framework within which cross-border cooperation has been developing in the European Union and in the Czech Republic. One section of this part discusses cross-border cooperation in the context of regional development theories and the significance of cross-border cooperation in cohesion policy and the way in which it is being promoted. The analytical part deals with the premises for the development of Czech-Polish border cooperation from the early 1990s to the present, including a limiting factor analysis and an analysis of the unexploited potential, with particular focus on the Euroregion Glacensis and the Euroregion Neisse. The main goal of the thesis is to evaluate the Czech-Polish border cooperation and the importance of selected cross-border cooperation projects and their impact on the development of the given border area. The conclusions reached in this thesis indicate that Czech-Polish border cooperation is currently of increasing importance, not only due to the greater financial support in the form of subsidies made possible by a new goal of the European Territorial Cooperation cohesion policy, but especially thanks to the initiatives of local communities on the ground, whose cross-border cooperation projects reflect their specific needs. |
