| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá privatizací ve Velké Británii v průběhu let 1979-1990, kdy v pozici předsedkyně vlády figurovala Margaret Thatcherová. Cílem práce je analyzovat proces privatizace, zasadit tento proces do hospodářských a politických souvislostí daných let, zjistit důsledky těchto reforem pro zprivatizované firmy a na další vývoj britské ekonomiky. V práci je popsán hospodářský a politický vývoj ve Velké Británii v poválečných letech s důrazem na nacionalizaci průmyslu a jeho relativní úpadek. Dále je nastíněn politický vzestup Margaret Thatcherové a charakterizován fenomén thatcherismu. Hlavní číst práce se zabývá samotným privatizačním procesem a jeho důsledky na britskou ekonomiku. Hypotéza zda privatizace byla hlavní příčinou znovunastartování Britské ekonomiky v 90. letech se nepotvrdila. Nárůst produktivity výrobních faktorů u privatizovaných firem se potvrdil jen v období těsně před a po denacionalizaci. |

| Abstract: | This thesis deals with privatization in Great Britain during the years 1979-1990, when Margaret Thatcher was in the position of Prime Minister. The aim is to analyze the process of privatization, to put this process into economic and political context of the years, to determine the implications of these reforms for privatized firms and the further development of the British economy. The paper describes the economic and political developments in the UK in the postwar years, with an emphasis on the nationalization of the industry and its relative decline. Furthermore, it outlines the political rise of Margaret Thatcher and characterized the phenomenon of Thatcherism. The main part of the work is concentrated on the privatization process and its consequences for the British economy. The hypothesis that privatization was the main cause of British economy improvement in the 90s was not confirmed. The increase in factor productivity in the privatized companies was confirmed only in the period just before and after denationalization. |
