Cooperation of NGOs in Melnik with emphasis on selected examples from within the Regional Museum of Melnik

The work describes the cooperation of NGOs in Melnik with the main emphasis on selected examples from within the Regional Museum of Melnik. The text briefly describes the non-profit sector, its main aspects and legal forms of NGOs . The following part of the paper focuses on the town of Melnik, its history and traditions. Both, the traditions and the past have been reflected in the work of many non-profit organizations that I describe in chapter four. Non-profit organizations and their activities form the basis for finding existing cooperation. The main aim of this paper is to describe the existing cooperation between NGOs and its benefits to all stakeholders. Selected examples from the environment of the Regional Museum of Melnik demonstrate the benefits of cooperation such as creating of programs of cultural events, building positive PR, financial savings in the field of promotion as well as labour savings in the event of allocation of tasks. In conclusion, I strive to detect possible negatives or risks of cooperation. Among the main concerns I try to point out are the lack of funds, reduction of subsidies or funds in general, retirement of active people from their existing jobs or volunteer positions. The last point of this work is to develop proposals for cooperation that emerged from the interviews and in-depth observations of the situation in and around the town of Melnik. My main proposal in this area is set to suggest a better coordination of organizations in planning their cultural events in order to make cultural events not coinciding.
