It focuses particularly on the economic nature and consequences of gambling on the economy of Las Vegas and Macau. The work looks at and examines the gambling industry from a social and psychological aspect with emphasis on the evaluation of the effectiveness in global comparison. The main outcome of the work is characteristic of the gambling industry in the world, with a particular focus on the main centre of Las Vegas and Macau. The main aim is to assess the specific reasons for these centers and to characterize the relationship between the associated industrial sectors. The present work consists of three chapters. The first part is devoted mainly to theoretical explanations of terms. The introductory chapter also examines the gambling industry on a global scale. The main part consists of an analysis of the gambling industry in Las Vegas. A similar analysis is developed for the Asian-pacific region with a center in Macao. Gambling industry is researched from several perspectives in order to find major differences in the American hence the Asian market. A large emphasis is placed on the relationship of the gambling industry to the other sectors of the industry and the potential association with an increase in crime. Part of this work is focused on some contemporary trends and forecasts on future developments. |
