Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu vývoje ekonomiky Spojeného království Velké Británie a Severního Irska a jeho sociálně-politických souvislostí v období druhé poloviny 20. století a na začátku 21. století. Součástí práce je rozbor historického vývoje postojů Spojeného království k procesu evropské integrace, historie britského začleňování do Evropských společenství a následného působení v pozici jednoho z jejích členských států, včetně popisu průběhu britského předsednictví Evropské unii z roku 2005. V závěrečné části práce se autor pokouší z dostupných zdrojů odhadnout možné scénáře dalšího vývoje vztahů Spojeného království a Evropské unie. |

| Abstract: |
The theses focuses on analysis of economic development of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and its social and political context through the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. The thesis includes analysis of the historical development of United Kingdom's attitude to the european integration process, the history of the british integration into the European Communities and its activity as one of the member states, covering a description of its presidency of the European Union in 2005. In the final part of the thesis the author tries to introduce to the possible scenarios of future relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union, based on accessible resources. |
