Abstract: | Master's Thesis aims to determine a success of UN peacekeeping operations in case studies of Namibia and Somalia. Literature dealing with evaluation of multidimensional peacekeeping operations is still developing and presents a dynamic field that requires further research. Definition of a success is crucial in planning and evaluation of peacekeeping operations. Challenge of such evaluation is caused by complexity of multidimensional peacekeeping, myriad definitions of a success, as well as suggestions for evaluation or conditions that need to be fulfilled for accomplishment of a successful peacekeeping operation. In this regard, particular conditions from several authors were chosen and tested to see whether they are also applicable in our cases, which of them are significant, and whether there is any correlation among them. |
