| Abstract: | The aim of the thesis is to describe the historical evolution as well as the current state of Chinese state-owned enterprises with a special focus on national oil companies. The paper begins with the description of China's economic development since the Communist Party came to power in 1949. Later on, the historical analysis narrows down to corporate reforms and privatization tendencies during the last three decades as well as the impact of these changes on the corporate sector in China. Significant part of the text assesses concerns and drawbacks emerging from SOE's existence, such as corruption, ineffectiveness and depletion of China's banking system. In the end, the case study on national oil companies investigates the unique position and privileges enjoyed by state-owned enterprises in the petroleum sector. |

| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je popsat historický vývoj a současnou podobu čínských státních podniků se zvláštním důrazem na ropné společnosti. První část popisuje ekonomický vývoj od nástupu Komunistické strany Číny k moci v roce 1949. V další části se pak historická analýza zužuje na reformy firemního sektoru a privatizační tendence posledních třiceti let a na jejich dopad na čínský podnikový sektor. Značná část práce se dále zabývá nevýhodami a potížemi spojenými se státními podniky v Číně, například korupcí, neefektivitou či zneužíváním bankovního sektoru. Závěrečná případová studie o národních ropných společnostech pak rozebírá unikátní postavení a privilegia, kterými disponují státem vlastněné podniky v tomto odvětví. |
