Abstract:
Today's consumer is different, he is always connected, more price-sensitive and more knowledgeable; today's consumer is willing to spend more time to find the best bargain. But it is not only the consumer who is changing; it is also the whole travel industry which is shifting more and more toward online. Among others, shifting trends gave rise to flight tickets aggregators who play the role of the middle-men. Aggregators also called meta-search sites found a business model allowing them to monetize their services and earn profit. My thesis focuses on analyzing the position of flight tickets aggregators in the online travel industry and assessing their business model. First, theoretical basis is set presenting the methods of research together with the introduction of the plausible business models of analyzed companies. Practical part consists of the secondary research on the online travel industry and the role of the consumer in it as well as the primary research based on in-depth interviews with representatives of 3 companies from the industry.

Dnešní populace se mění, lidé jsou stále připojení, lépe informovaní a více dbají na to, aby nalezli co nejlepší cenu. Nyní mají v ruce velmi silný nástroj - internet. V cestovním průmyslu tento trend též platí a stránky agregující informace o letenkách jsou tak přesně to, co uživatel hledá.
