| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá vybranými ekonomickými dopady pořádání letních olympijských her 2012 na město Londýn a zároveň odpovídá kladně na otázku, zda monopol na pořádání her zaručuje finanční návratnost investice. Práce se dále zaměřila na dopad olympijských her na zaměstnanost a vliv na cenu nemovitostí ve východním Londýně využívajíce data z Office for National Statistics a z vlastního dotazníkového šetření. Hypotézy vyššího růstu cen nemovitostí a snížení nezaměstnanosti nebyly potvrzeny pro celý východní Londýn, ale pouze pro blízké okolí olympijské výstavby. Je zajímavé, že předpoklad vyššího růstu cen nemovitostí v porovnání se zbývající části města nebyl potvrzen v městské části Newham, kde je olympijský park situován. Vysvětlení spočívá ve výstavbě olympijské vesnice, která znamená téměř 3.000 nových bytů, což pravděpodobně drží cenu nemovitostí na nízké hladině. |

| Abstract: | The main objective of this thesis is to deal with the economic impact of the Olympic Games 2012 in London. Also this work provides a positive answer whether a monopoly for organizing of such games guarantee the financial return of investment. Furhter this thesis focus on the impact of the Olympic Games from the view of employment and the impact of real estate in east London, while using the data from the Office for National Statistics supported by own questionnaire survey.Hypotheses of higher growth in real estate prices and lower unemployment have not been confirmed for the entire east London, but only for the nearest area of the Olympic construction. The assumption of higher growth in real estate prices in comparison to the rest of the city was neither confirmed in the district of Newham, where the Olympic park is situated. The explanation is build on a fact when the construction of the Olympic Village, which means nearly 3,000 new dwellings, results in the price of real estate at a low level. |
