Czechoslovak-British relations in the 30's of the 20th century

This thesis deals with the development of the Czechoslovak-British political and diplomatic relations during the 30's of the 20th century. The goal of the thesis is to analyse British policy on the central Europe, more precisely on the Czechoslovakia, before the conclusion of the Munich Agreement and also attempts to define development and causes of its turnover in the early years of the Second World War. The first chapter defines the most important moments of the Czechoslovak-British relations in the 20's which influenced the development of mutual relations in the 30's. The second chapter aims to describe British policy on the Czechoslovakia in the first half of the 30's. The third and fourth chapters focus on the increasing appeasement of British policy, its causes and role of Neville Chamberlain in this policy. The fifth chapter analyses the question of the British guarantee of the so called Second Republic. The last chapter focuses on the attitude of Great Britain to the Czechoslovak exile in the early years of the Second World War and causes of its changes.
