Based on daily data of four winter seasons, it concludes that the factors which influence the demand for skiing differ among each type of the ski passes. Attendance of the visitors with one-day ski pass is influenced by weather, snow conditions, marketing events and spring break. The weather does not have almost any effect on the multi-day skipass attendance, the most important aspect is the spring break. By contrast, the attendance of the night skiing is almost exclusively influenced by the weather and the impact of this factor is stronger than on any other ski passes. An interesting finding is that bad weather conditions do not have such a big effect on the one-day ski pass attendance, but it affects the number of the skiing rides of the visitors. |
