Malware: species, attackers , protective precautions and security system

The graduate thesis deals with issue of malicious software, called Malware. Despite the fact that most of the people have never met this name, almost every user has heard about well-known species, such as viruses, worms and Trojan horses. The thesis is divided into several chapters. In the first chapter there is explained the Malware which is the main theme of the graduate thesis. Content of the next part is to state some of the unclear information, connected with issue of Malware, analysis of individual species and their mutual differences. It is followed by the historical development of important events of Malware and its negative impact on society. The next part is given to creators of Malware, called crackers. There is described usual character of crackers, the reasons for their behavior and their comparison with similar groups of people. There is also the description of the two main target groups, in which the crackers are concentrating on. The last chapter of the theoretical part is the protection and prevention before Malware, where is the summary of the helpful advice for every user. The practical part deals with analysis and proposal of the security system of the Across Print Company, whose system have been attacked by Malware yet. Because of the event the company chose this graduate thesis for the proposal and testing some of the antivirus programmes, which would be suitable for installation in the company and which would improve security system of the company.
