The thesis consists of the analysis of foreign policy, but also the causes and development of the left turns in Latin America. Additionally, the thesis includes the historic excursion and the study of the political regime after Morales and MAS assumed the power. The main research question is asking whether the goal of the foreign rhetoric and policy of Evo Morales is aiming to strengthen his position in the country and also in the leftist block. The methodology is based in the analysis of Evo ´s governance in the context of left turns in Latin America and mainly the research about the international relations during his governance. The link between his foreign policy and strengthening of the power position of the Bolivian president is examined by the text analysis of the president´s speeches, which is a suitable method to test the frequency of topics that include foreign policy. |
