| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá osobností Winstona Churchilla v zahraniční politice Velké Británie. Cílem práce je analyzovat roli jednotlivce jakožto tvůrce zahraniční politiky státu na příkladu Winstona Churchilla. Práce je rozdělená do dvou částí. První, teoreticko-metodologická část definuje zahraniční politiku, její cíle, nástroje a aktéry s důrazem na jednotlivce. Praktická část se zabývá charakterem britské zahraniční politiky v první polovině 20. století do nástupu Churchilla jako nového válečného ministerského předsedy. Dále je zde zmíněna osobnost Winstona Churchilla, jeho více než půl století trvající politická kariéra, strategie a koncepce uplatňované v britské zahraniční politice během jeho funkčního období, včetně vize Spojených států evropských jakožto významného aktéra v nově uspořádaném mezinárodním systému. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis focuses on the personality of Winston Churchill and his role in the foreign policy of the Great Britain. It is split up into two parts. The former, a theoretical-methodical one, defines foregin policy, its goals, means and persons, stressing the role of individuals. The latter, practical part is devoted to the nature of British foreign policy during the 1st half of the 20th century until the arrival of Winston Churchill as wartime prime minister. Furthermore, the personality of Winston Churchill, his political career spanning over more than half a century, his strategy and visions practiced during his time in office including the idea of United States of Europe as important player in the newly emerging international system are all mentioned. |
