| Abstract: | Práce studuje pojetí a řízení diplomacie Římské republiky. Charakterizuje vývoj mezinárodního postavení římské říše, soustředí se na její expanzi silou a expanzi pomocí diplomacie. Na příkladech z života G. I. Caesara analyzuje použití soft a hard power ve vnitropolitické činnosti, zahraniční politice a mezinárodních vztazích antického světa. Jejím hlavním cílem je objasnit roli diplomacie a síly a způsob jejich využití v politice G. I. Caesara během procesu nabytí absolutní moci v Římské republice. |

| Abstract: | The thesis studies the concept and management of diplomacy in the Republic of Rome. It characterizes the development of the international status of the Roman Empire, focuses on its expansion by force and expansion through diplomacy. On examples from the life of G. I. Caesar analyzes application of soft and hard power in internal politics, foreign policy, and international relations of the ancient world. Its main objective is to clarify the role of diplomacy and force and the way in which G. I. Caesar's policy was applied during the process of acquiring absolute power in the Republic of Rome. |
