| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se věnuje popisu a analýze kognitivních schopností osob starších 50 let v České republice. Cílem práce je seznámit čtenáře s panelovými daty a jejich využitím při analýze kognitivních schopností. Pro účely analýzy jsou použita data z šetření Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). V teoretické části jsou obecně popsána panelová data, kognitivní schopnosti a šetření SHARE. Praktická část je rozdělena celkem do čtyř částí. První z nich se věnuje deskriptivní analýze jednotlivých bloků z modulu kognitivní funkce publikovaného v rámci průzkumu SHARE. Následně jsou popsány charakteristiky: věk, pohlaví, vzdělání a počet prováděných aktivit, jejichž vliv na kognitivní schopnosti je v práci testován. Třetí část se věnuje konstrukci indexu kognitivních schopností. Hlavní část práce je zaměřena na využití analýzy panelových dat pro modelování závislosti mezi indexem kognitivních schopností a ostatními charakteristikami. Celkem jsou sestaveny tři různé modely, které jsou mezi sebou porovnány a následně otestovány na nových datech. Z výsledků vyplývá, že velký vliv na kognitivní schopnosti má věk. Dále je průkazný vliv vzdělání a počtu prováděných aktivit. Vliv pohlaví je významný pouze u dvou ze tří modelů. |

| Abstract: | This master thesis deals with the description and analysis of the cognitive abilities of persons over 50 years of age in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to present the readers the panel data and their use in the analysis of cognitive abilities. For the purpose of the analysis, data from Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) are used. In the theoretical part, panel data, cognitive abilities and SHARE survey are generally described. The practical part is divided into four parts. The first one deals with descriptive analysis of individual blocks from the cognitive function module published in the SHARE. Characteristics: age, gender, education and the number of activities are then described, whose impact on cognitive abilities is tested. The third part focuses on the construction of an index of cognitive abilities. The main part of the thesis is focused on the use of panel data analysis for the modeling of dependence between the index of cognitive abilities and other characteristics. In total, three different models are compiled, which are subsequently compared to each other and tested on new data. The results show that age has a great impact on cognitive abilities. Furthermore, there is a proven impact of education and the number of activities carried out. The influence of gender is only significant in two of the three models. |
