| Abstract: | Brexit neboli proces odchodu Velké Británie z Evropské unie, je tématem, které v posledních dvou letech nejsilněji rezonuje na geopolitické scéně. Diplomová práce mapuje příčiny, které k Brexitu vedly včetně jejich historického kontextu. Rozebírá hlavní argumenty jeho zastánců jako platby do rozpočtu EU, kde by, ceteris paribus, Velká Británie mohla každý rok ušetřila téměř 11 miliard euro a zásadní pokles mezinárodního obchodu s členskými zeměmi. Zároveň se zabývá také důsledky, které v souvislosti s ním na Spojené Království pravděpodobně čekají, a to z pohledu publikovaných analýz renomovaných škol a nadnárodních organizací stejně jako mých vlastních včetně využití Teorie her. Přestože převažujícím faktorem je značná nejistota a mnoho neznámých, docházím k závěru, že determinantem bude postoj Evropské unie. Pakliže zvítězí striktně ekonomický pohled, Brexit nebude mít v dlouhodobém horizontu negativní vliv pro obě strany. V případě, že převáží kritéria politická, převáží rovněž negativa. |

| Abstract: | Brexit, otherwise known as the withdrawal of Great Britain from the European Union, is the main topic on today geopolitical stage. The thesis focus on causes, which led to the Brexit, including its historical context. It dwells upon the main arguments of “Leavers” such as British payments to the EU budget, where, ceteris paribus, Great Britain would be able to save up to 11 billion euros, and also crucial fall of international trade with other member states. Simultaneously it anticipates the consequences, which will most likely occur for the UK from the point of view of renowned economic schools, multinational organizations and my own. Since the uncertainty and unknowns are the fundamental elements, using the Game Theory I come to conclusion, that the attitude of EU will determine the outcome. If the economic view prevail, Brexit will not have negative influence on both sides in the long run. On the other hand, if the political criteria outweighed the economic ones, the negative consequences will arise. |
