| Abstract: | Polish women are denied their legal right to abortion in their home country, having to overcome various obstacles in order to receive the desired abortion. It is legal to have an abortion in case of a threat to the mother’s health or life, if the fetus suffers from severe genetic malformation or if the pregnancy results from either incest or rape. But Polish women have to resort to underground abortions, which is usually a health risk, or travel to another country in order to have an abortion performed, which is usually connected with high costs.In order to identify what has to change in the situation of restricted access to safe abortion, the present work focused on presenting the obstacles for this restricted access and to present possible solutions for the future for this issue.For the present work, additional to literature review, two expert interviews were conducted in order to gain deeper insight into this situation and to figure out the solutions these experts see right now for this situation.In the course of the thesis, three major obstacles were identified. First, the legal documents lead to confusion, as these do not state clearly what is legal and what is illegal. The second obstacle is the huge influence of the Catholic Church on the state and doctors. As a result, the third obstacle occurs when doctors are pressured by the Church to evoke the conscience clause which allows them to deny women the access to abortion.Concerning possible solutions for this situations, the research concludes with the sad outcome that at the moment there is nothing else to do than to raise awareness about the issue of restricted access and to wait for the next election in 21⁄2 years in order to change the government to a more liberal one. |

| Abstract: | Polským ženám je odepřeno v jejich zemi zákonné právo na potrat. Musejí překonat různé překážky, aby získaly požadovaný potrat. Potrat je legální v případě ohrožení zdraví nebo života matky, jestliže plod trpí závažnými genetickými vadami nebo jestliže těhotenství vyplývá buď z incestu, nebo znásilnění. Polské ženy se musí uchýlit k ilegálním potratům, které jsou obvykle zdravotním rizikem, nebo cestují do jiné země, aby provedly potrat, ale to je spojeno s vysokými náklady.Práce byla zaměřena na zjištění překážek omezeného přístupu k bezpečnému potratu a nalezení možných řešení této problematiky v budoucnosti.Byly provedeny dva odborné rozhovory s cílem získat hlubší pohled na danou situaci a zjistit řešení, které odborníci pro tuto situaci vidí. V průběhu práce byly zjištěny tři hlavní překážky. Za prvé, právní dokumenty vedou k nejasnostem, neboť jasně neuvádějí, co je legální a co je ilegální. Druhou překážkou je obrovský vliv katolické církve v rámci státu a lékařů. Výsledkem toho je třetí překážka, která nastává, když jsou lékaři pod tlakem církve. U lékařů se pod tlakem katolické církve projevuje pocit viny, kvůli kterému odmítají ženám přístup k potratu. Co se týče možných řešení těchto situací, výzkum končí se smutným výsledkem. V současné době nelze nic jiného dělat než zvyšovat povědomí o otázce omezeného přístupu k potratům a čekat na příští volby za 2,5 let a změnit, aby vláda v této problematice byla liberálnější. |
