| Abstract: | Tématem této diplomové práce je pořadatelství olympijských her ve vazbě na pověst státu se zaměřením na letní olympijské hry konané v Londýně 2012. Pořadatelství olympijských her je považováno za velmi prestižní a atraktivní. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému vymezení měkké moci a využití sportovní diplomacie v budování dobré pověsti státu. Druhá část práce se pak věnuje Velké Británii a její kandidatuře na pořadatelství olympijských her. |

| Abstract: | This master thesis deals with the organisation of the Olympic Games in connection with nation´s image with the focus on the London Summer Olympic Games 2012. Organisation of the Olympic Games is considered to be very prestigious and attractive. The first part of the thesis explains the term soft power and the usage of sport diplomacy in order or improve nation´s image. The second part of the thesis deals with the United Kingdom and the bidding process for the 2012 Olympic Games. |
