| Abstract: | Terorismus se v posledních letech stal opravdovou hrozbou pro státy Evropské unie. S využitím nových metod a taktik jsou teroristé čím dál tím více nebezpečnější a státy zranitelnější. Boj proti terorismu tedy musí být prioritou bezpečnostních politik všech zemí EU. Nejinak je tomu i u malých států. Jak Belgie, tak i Rakousko jsou si vědomy toho, že v boji proti hrozbě teroristického útoku nemůžou polevit. Teoreticko-metodologické východisko diplomové práce se věnuje malým státům v mezinárodních vztazích, významu pojmu terorismu a jeho současné podobě v EU a kritériím k porovnání protiteroristických politik vybraných zemí. Empirická část práce se zabývá bojem proti terorismu v Belgii a Rakousku. Práce rovněž srovnává podobnosti a odlišnosti v jejich protiteroristických politikách. |

| Abstract: | Terrorism has become a real threat for the European Union in the last years. By using new methods and tactics terrorists are becoming much more dangerous and states are more vulnerable. The fight against terrorism has to be a priority of the security policies of all EU countries. Both Belgium and Austria are aware that they cannot ease their counter-terrorism policy. The theoretical and methodological basis of the thesis deals with the small states in international relations, the current form of terrorism in the EU and the criteria for comparison of counter-terrorism policies in selected countries. The empirical part is targeted at the fight against terrorism in Belgium and Austria. The thesis also compares similarities and differences in their counter-terrorism policies. |
