| Abstract: | The thesis assesses the position of women in management and its differences between countries. This thesis deals with the challenges of women in managerial positions.The theoretical part focuses on the on the explanation of the concepts related to the general characteristics of a manager, and its basic competencies are explained. This chapter also deals with the barriers which can prevent women from the career advancement and differences between women and men on managerial positions.The practical part tests the theoretical knowledge on the background of analysis of Mars Inc. and its offices in different countries. With the help of qualitative research and its following analysis, it is possible to examine the situation of female managers in the company, define the challenges of women in managerial positions, and see the possibilities for improving situation. |

| Abstract: | Práce vyhodnocuje situaci žen v managementu a rozdíly mezi jednotlivými zeměmi. Tato práce se zabývá výzvami žen v manažerských pozicích. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vysvětlení pojmů vztahujících se k obecné charakteristice manažera a jeho základním kompetencím. Tato kapitola se také zabývá překážkami, které mohou zabránit ženám v profesním postupu a rozdíly mezi ženami a muži na vedoucích pozicích.Praktická část ověřuje teoretické poznatky na pozadí analýzy Mars Inc. a jejích kanceláří v různých zemích. S pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu a jeho následné analýzy, je možno přezkoumat situaci žen ve vedoucích pozicích ve společnosti, definovat problémy žen v manažerských pozicích, a podívat se na možnosti pro zlepšení situace. |
