| Abstract: | Cílem práce je analyzovat hospodářský a politický vývoj na pozadí dvou odlišných režimů v Afghánistánu mezi lety 1960 – 1979, kdy byly v zemi nejsilnější tendence o demokratizaci režimu a přiblížení se Evropě. Práce poskytuje ucelený pohled na vývoj v zemi v tomto období a zkoumá dopady vnitřní a vnější politiky na oba režimy: království za vlády Mohammada Záhira Šáha a republiky za vlády Muhammada Dáúda Chána. Práce je napsána za pomoci nástrojů deskripce, analýzy a komparace. Nejprve se zaměřuje na historické pozadí vzniku království a nástup krále Šáha na trůn. Práce dále zkoumá změnu režimu po nekrvavém puči v roce 1973 a analyzuje vliv mocností na tomto území a předkládá důvody krvavého puče v roce 1978 a Sovětské invaze o rok později. Poté zkoumá hospodářský vývoj v zemi v tomto období na základě vývoje HDP a analýzy jednotlivých sektorů ekonomiky. Na základě analýzy a komparace bylo prokázáno, že fungování stabilního demokratického režimu, v takové podobě, v jaké ho vidí Evropa a USA, není v Afghánistánu možné. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to analyze the economic and political development behind the curtains of two regimes in Afghanistan in period 1960 -1979, with a notion that in that era the country had the strongest tendecy to democraticise the regime and move closer to the Europe. The work provides a comprehensive view on the developments in the country during this period, and examines the implications of internal and external policies for both regimes: the kingdom during the reign of Mohammed Zahir Shah and the republic ruled by Mohammed Daoud Khan. Methods used in the thesis are description, analysis and comparison. Firstly,the thesis focuses on the historical background of the kingdom and the rise of King Shah, followed up by the regime change after the bloodless coup in 1973, as well as it analyzes the influence of the powers in this territory. Then it examines the economic development in the country in the aforementioned period, based on the GDP development statistics and analysis of individual sectors of the economy. Based on the analysis and comparison, it was proven that existence of a stable democratic regime in a form common in Europe and the U.S. is possible in Afghanistan. |
