| Abstract: | Diplomová práce si klade za cíl zhodnotit hospodářskou situaci v Kambodži v letech 1979-2000 po pádu genocidního režimu Rudých Khmerů. Popsány jsou historické milníky konce 70. a 80-90. let, mající vliv na agrární, průmyslový sektor, sektor služeb i ekonomické a sociodemografické ukazatele v analyzovaném období. V poslední kapitole jsou nastíněny bilaterální vztahy s Československem/Českou republikou. Hlavním zjištěním práce je markantní hospodářský propad v roce 1979 s postupnou stabilizací v 80. letech a boomem oděvního průmyslu a cestovního ruchu v 2. polovině 90. let. Reintegraci do světové ekonomiky napomohla mírová mise Organizace spojených národů, zakončená svobodnými volbami v roce 1993. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis focuses on evaluation of the economic situation in Cambodia between 1979 and 2000 after the fall of the genocidal regime of the Khmer Rouge. The study describes historical milestones of the late 1970s, 80s, and 90s that affected the agricultural, industrial, and service sectors as well as key economic and socio-demographic indicators in the analyzed period. The last chapter outlines bilateral rela-tions with Czechoslovakia / Czech Republic. The main finding of the work is the dra-matic economic downturn in 1979 with progressive stabilization in the 1980s and the boom in the garment and tourism industry in the 2nd half of the 1990s. The peace mis-sion of the United Nations, culminating in the free elections in 1993, initiated Cambo-dia’s reintegration into the global economy. |
