Abstract: | Práce se zabývá vysvětlením a praktickou aplikací multifaktorové investiční strategie, s cílem vytvořit investiční portfolio s expozicí vůči faktorům. |

Abstract: | The paper explains and applies multi-factor strategies in portfolio construction. The term is explained in a broader context in the first part of the thesis and also the theoretical foundations are mentioned, such as Efficient-Market Hypothesis, Modern Portfolio Theory and Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). The key output of the thesis is an analysis, presented in the second part of the paper. The aim of the analysis is to create an investment portfolio with the increased exposure to risk factors, using the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Two following methodologies are used for this purpose. The first is the application of multi-factor analysis to a group of ETFs in order to determine their sensitivities to preselected risk factors and subsequently their expected returns. This output is then used in the second step of the analysis, when the above-mentioned ETFs are utilized to construct the portfolio located at the efficient frontier. The Markowitz’s Selection Model is introduced in order to identify the efficient portfolio. The thesis answers the question whether the ETFs are exposed to risk factors and therefore these instruments are suitable to capture them. Furthermore, the process of the construction of the portfolio is explained. |
