| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá znalostní ekonomikou v České republice. Cílem této práce je porovnat úroveň znalostní ekonomiky ve městech Praha, Brno a Ostrava. Pro porovnání těchto měst je sestaven „ranking“ na základě vlastního indexu. Tvorba indexu se opírá o první, teoretickou, část diplomové práce. V této části je nejdříve popsán pojem znalostní ekonomika, pohled na znalostní ekonomiku v čase a její pilíře. Dále se zaměřuje na existující metodiky, které měří znalostní ekonomiku na národní a nadnárodní úrovni. Kromě sestavení celkového pořadí práce také řeší hodnocení měst v jednotlivých kategoriích ukazatelů. Druhá část se zabývá a vyvrací hypotézu, že úroveň znalostní ekonomiky je přibližně stejná ve sledovaných městech. První místo v celkovém pořadí, a tedy nejlepší úroveň znalostní ekonomiky, obsadila Praha. Brno se umístilo na druhém místě a Ostrava je třetí. |

| Abstract: | This thesis deals with the knowledge-based economy in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to compare the levels of the knowledge-based economy in the cities of Prague, Brno, and Ostrava. To compare these cities a "ranking" was built based on a custom index. The index was formed based on the first, theoretical, part of the thesis. This part of the thesis describes the term knowledge-based economy, the trends in the knowledge-based economy and its pillars. It further focuses on existing indicators used to measure knowledge-based economy on a national and multinational level. In addition to establishing the final ranking, each city was assessed based on indicator categories. The second part studies and refutes the initial hypothesis that the level of the knowledge-based economy should roughly be similar in the examined cities. Where the first place in the ranking, therefore, the best level of the knowledge-based economy, was awarded to Prague. Brno scored the second and finally Ostrava the third. |
