Transformation of the National Front after the arrival of Marine Le Pen: attitude towards migration and the EU

Tato práce se zabývá francouzskou politickou stranou Národní Fronta a konkrétně rozdílům v názorech dvou jejích lídrů, Jean-Marie Le Pen a Marine Le Pen. Opírá se o teoretický základ, který se věnuje historii a definicím stran krajní pravice v Evropě. Následuje stručná historie a volební výsledky strany Národní Fronta. Praktická část analyzuje materiály z prezidentských kampaní obou zkoumaných politiků, jedná se o volební programy a televizní spoty. Cílem práce je zjistit, v čem se lišily hlavní témata během prezidentské kampaně Jean-Marie Le Pen a Marine Le Pen, jejich postoj k migraci a EU a jejich míra radikálnosti.

This thesis deals with the French political party National Front and specifically with the differences of opinion between two of its leaders, Jean-Marie Le Pen and Marine Le Pen. It leans on a theoretical basis that focuses on the history and definitions of far right parties in Europe. Then it presents a brief history and election results of the National Front. The practical part analyzes materials from the presidential campaigns of the two politicians surveyed, namely electoral programs and television spots. The aim of this thesis is to find out what the main themes were during the presidential campaign of Jean-Marie Le Pen and Marine Le Pen, their attitude towards migration and the EU and their degree of radicality.
