| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce vychází z konceptu specifik v chování malých států v oblasti zahraniční politiky. Hlavním cílem práce je porovnat zahraniční politiku Litvy, Lotyšska a Estonska vůči Ruské federaci na základě vybraných zahraničně-politických prostředků aplikovaných v letech 2014-2016. Zároveň si autor pokládá doplňující otázku, zda po událostech na Ukrajině došlo k prohloubení spolupráce a většímu sblížení baltských zemí. V teoretické části se autor zabývá parametry pro definování malých států, jejich specifiky v chování a preferovanými prostředky zahraniční politiky. V empirické části navazuje ověřením skutečnosti, že Litva, Lotyšsko a Estonskou jsou skutečně malými státy a analýzou jejich zahraniční politiky na základě vybraných zahraničně-politických prostředků užitých v relevantním období. Poté jsou tyto prostředky porovnány, z čehož autor vyvozuje jak odlišnosti, tak podobnosti v chování baltských států v souvislosti s Ruskem jako bezpečnostní hrozbou. |

| Abstract: | The thesis is based on the concept of specifics in the behaviour of small states in the field of foreign policy. The main objective of the thesis is to compare the foreign policy of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia towards the Russian Federation on the basis of selected foreign policy instruments applied in 2014-2016. At the same time, the author asks the supplementary question whether after the events in Ukraine, the cooperation and closer alignment of the Baltic countries were deepened. In the theoretical part, the author deals with parameters for defining small states, their specifics and preferred instruments of foreign policy. In the empirical part, he continues with verification that Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are really small states and with the analysis of their foreign policy based on the applied foreign policy instruments during relevant period. Finally, these instruments are compared from which the author deduces differences as well as similarities in the behaviour of the Baltic states in respect of Russia as a security treat. |
