| Abstract: | Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat světový obchod s cukrem a postavení Austrálie na tomto trhu. V první kapitole je popsána historie cukru jako komodity, jeho produkce, spotřeba a faktory, které produkci i světovou cenu cukru ovlivňují. Jsou zde také analyzováni globální aktéři tohoto trhu. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje přímo na cukrovarnictví v Austrálii, jeho postavení, vývoj a současné problémy. Poslední část je věnována možnému budoucímu vývoji australského cukrovarnictví a možnostem zvýšení jeho konkurenceschopnosti na světovém trhu. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the world sugar trade and the role of Australia in this market. The first chapter describes the history of sugar, its production, consumption and some factors which influence world sugar production and the world sugar price. The global actors in this field are analysed as well. The second chapter is focused on the sugar industry in Australia, its role, development and current problems. The last chapter is devoted to the possible future development of Australian sugar industry and to the possibilities of improving its competitiveness. |
