| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rolí Finska v izraelsko-palestinském konfliktu. Teoretický rámec zkoumá zahraniční politiku malých států a jejich roli v mezinárodních vztazích, praktická část následně analyzuje zahraniční politiku Finska a její vliv na izraelsko-palestinský mírový proces. Stěžejním tématem bude politická angažovanost Finska v konfliktu, včetně jeho působení v Organizaci spojených národů a momentů, kdy vstupovalo mezi obě znesvářené strany jako prostředník. Dále se práce věnuje způsobům, jakými Finsko ovlivňuje konflikt ekonomicky, především pomocí obchodu a rozvojové spolupráce. Cílem práce je tak komplexně zhodnotit, jaké přínosy má Finsko pro možné řešení konfliktu a v čem naopak spočívají překážky. |

| Abstract: | This master’s thesis copes with role of Finland in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The theoretical framework studies foreign policy of small states and their role in international relations, analytical part subsequently investigates Finnish foreign policy and its influence on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The pivotal topic will be political engagement of Finland in the conflict, including its activities in the United Nations as well as mediation efforts between the two feuding parties. Furthermore, the thesis deals with economic means which influence the conflict, mainly through trade and development cooperation. The purpose of the thesis is thus a complex evaluation of Finnish contributions to the possible conflict resolution as well as an assessment of hindrances. |
