| Abstract: | The master's thesis aims to examine the evolution of Germany's identity in regard to NATO. Utilizing a constructivist frame of identity development, it first divides the developments in NATO's collective identity into three distinctive phases in which the social interaction between NATO and Germany is examined. The evolution of Germany's identity in each phase is examined through the analysis of primary sources such as strategic documents and official statements, supplemented by secondary sources. Constructivist approach to identities with focus on the processes of role-taking and altercasting and attention to potential dissonance is maintained throughout the thesis. |

| Abstract: | Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza vývoje identity Německa ve vztahu k NATO. Za pomoci konstruktivistického náhledu na vývoj identit práce nejprve rozděluje kolektivní identitu NATO do tří charakteristických vývojových fází, ve kterých pak zkoumá sociální interakce mezi NATO a Německem. Evoluce Německé identity v každé z fází je pak zkoumána především pomocí primárních zdrojů, jakými jsou strategické dokumenty a oficiální prohlášení, doplněných zdroji sekundárními. Konstruktivistický náhled na identity s důrazem na procesy role-taking a altercasting a také případné disonance je udržován v průběhu celé práce. |
