| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou hospodářské blokády USA vůči Kubě a klade si za cíl interpretovat, popsat a zhodnotit dopady ekonomického embarga, které trvalo více něž půl století na území ostrova. Dalším cílem je na základě znalosti historického kontextu a stejně tak i současných dějin zhodnotit, zda skutečně dochází ke zrušení blokády. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První kapitola vytváří historický rámec a uvádí důvody vzniku blokády. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na popis vývoje kubánské ekonomiky a zahraničního obchodu po zavedení embarga, včetně přijatých opatření ze strany Spojených států. Třetí kapitola se věnuje již konkrétně současné ekonomické a politické situaci na ostrově. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of the US economic blockade against Cuba and sets a goal to interpret, describe and evaluate the impacts of the economic embargo, which remained for more than half a century on the Island. Another objective is to assess, on the basis of knowledge of the historical context and of contemporary history, whether or not the embargo is actually abolished. The work is divided into three parts. The first chapter creates a historical framework and lists the reasons for the blockade. The second chapter focuses on the description of the development of the Cuban economy and foreign trade being under the embargo, including the measures taken by the United States. The third chapter deals specifically with the current economic and political situation in Cuba. |
