The comparison of qlik sense and qlick view tool in regard to their added value in working with business metadata in the area of Business Intelligence

Pojem metadata se v této době začíná objevovat stále častěji a jejich implementace do nástrojů je dnes běžnou praxí. Vzhledem k stupňujícímu se významu metadat je cílem práce přiblížit pojmy Business Intelligence a business metadata, následně se práce věnuje pojmům Guided Analytics a Self-Service visualization, které popisují princip fungování nástrojů, které jsou v práci testovány. Práce je zaměřena na porovnání možností při práci s business metadaty v oblasti Business Intelligence u nástrojů Qlik Sense a Qlik View. Výsledkem práce je zhodnocení těchto možností a podání informací čtenáři, které může použít při rozhodování se pro jeden z testovaných nástrojů. Práce je určena pro manažery, ale i podnikatele, kteří uvažují o zavedení jednoho z testovaných nástrojů do vlastní společnosti, avšak téma může oslovit i běžného čtenáře, který chce získat znalosti o pojmech Business Intelligence, metadat a business metadata.

The term metadata is being used more and more frequently today and its implementation into tools has already become a common practice. Due to the increasing importance of metadata nowadays, the aim of this thesis is to clarify the concepts of Business Intelligence and business metadata. Moreover, the thesis also deals with Guided Analytics and Self-Service visualization, that both describe the principles of using two selected tools, which are being tested later in this paper. The thesis is focused on the comparison of the usage of business metadata in Business Intelligence tools like Qlik Sense and Qlik View. As a result of this thesis an evaluation of these tools is provided. Furthermore, this paper also provides useful information, which may be used by the reader when deciding on which of these two tools to use. The thesis is mostly aimed at managers or entrepreneurs who consider the implementation of one of the tools mentioned. However, the topic may be found appealing to any reader, who is interested in the issue of Business Intelligence, metadata and business metadata.
