Abstract:
In this thesis, an investigation of Ariba Network and Ariba Sourcing has been conducted. It aims to analyze the current functionalities and features of these two modules and then design and add new features for the system that will help improve it further from its current faults and imperfections. These two modules are used by buying and supplying organizations to transact with each other and monitor performances and risk assessment. At the beginning a library research has been undertaken to understand the differences between these two modules and examine which business needs they can serve. A field research has been executed to gain insights on what its key users and product supporters actually think of these two modules. The results gained are used to design and create new features and functionalities to help improve them from their current faults and imperfections. Hence, this thesis provides mockups created by the researcher to visualize the design of these new features and provide an overview of how well they can improve the productivity of both modules when it comes to lifecycle management. To conclude the research, Ariba Network and Ariba Sourcing work very well from the buying organization’s side. However, they both need essential improvement from the supplier organization’s perspective. The conclusions provided can be used to implement the necessary changes to improve both modules to accomplish higher customer satisfaction.
