| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá kryptoměnami z hlediska ekonomických a technologických aspektů a historického vývoje, s bližším zaměřením na kryptoměnu Bitcoin. Autor vyvozuje, že Bitcoin nelze klasifikovat jako peníze. Splňuje funkci prostředku směny, přesněji druhotného prostředku směny. Mohl by splňovat i funkci účetní jednotky, nikoliv funkce uchovatele hodnoty, což dokazuje pomocí definic teoretiků rakouské školy. Autor popisuje platební styk s využitím Bitcoinu, náklady na jeho těžbu a zisk z této těžby plynoucí a upozorňuje na nevyhovující a rostoucí energetické požadavky celého systému. Popisuje technické prvky, o které se kryptoměny a Bitcoin opírají, na kterých byly založeny a jaký byl jejich vývoj. Nastiňuje některé z problémů, s kterými se Bitcoin současně potýká. Jedná se o rozšiřitelnost a vysoké transakční poplatky, které jsou důsledkem nevyhovujících technických prvků. Vytvořil model nabídky výpočetní síly a poptávky po ni na „trhu“ Bitcoinu, na kterém odůvodňuje důsledky těchto nedostatků a jejich řešení v rámci alternativních kryptoměn a Bitcoinu samotného. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis deals with cryptocurrencies in terms of economic and technological aspects and historical development, with a closer focus on the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The author concludes that Bitcoin can’t be classified as money. It fulfills the function of a medium of exchange, more precisely a secondary medium of exchange. It could also fulfill the function of a unit of account, not the function of a store of value, as evidenced by the definitions of the Austrian school theorists. The author describes Bitcoin's payment transactions, mining costs, and profits from mining, and highlights the inadequate and growing energy requirements of the entire system. The author describes the technical aspects that the cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin lean on, on which they were based and what their development was. It outlines some of the problems that Bitcoin faces to this date. That is scalability and high transaction fees that are the result of unsatisfactory technical features. He created a computing power supply and demand model for Bitcoin's "market" to justify the consequences of these deficiencies and their solutions in the context of alternative cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin itself. |
