| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje kryptoměny z hlediska technického a ekonomického. Práce se zaměřuje na zkoumání podstaty peněz, zejména tzv. fiat money a jejich porovnání s kryptoměnami. Téma je aktuální především díky vysoké popularitě kryptoměn, která byla zapříčiněna výrazným růstem jejich kurzů v poslední době. Kryptoměny mohou představovat alternativu pro ty, kteří nedůvěřují současným penězům a obecně celému finančnímu systému, např. z důvodu případné finanční krize. Práce detailně popisuje zásady, na kterých je založeno fungování nejznámější digitální měny – Bitcoin (též BTC), vysvětluje, čím se liší tento alternativní druh peněz od současných tzv. úvěrových peněz, a zjišťuje, s jakými potenciálními problémy se mohou setkat kryptoměny na cestě k získání dominantního postavení na trhu peněz. Obsahem je rovněž odpověď na otázku, zda lze považovat kryptoměny v jejich dnešní podobě za peníze. Poslední kapitola se v závěru věnuje zkoumání toho, jak by vypadalo úvěrování prostřednictvím BTC. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor's thesis analyzes the cryptocurrencies from their technical and economic perspective. The thesis focuses on exploring the essence of money, especially the fiat money, and comparing it with cryptocurrencies. The theme is up to date due to the high popularity of cryptocurrencies, which was caused by a significant increase of their prices recently. Cryptocurrencies can be an alternative for those who do not trust in current money and the entire financial system in general, for example due to the financial crisis. The paper describes in detail the principles underlying the functioning of the most famous digital currency – Bitcoin, explains how this alternative type of money differs from the so-called credit money and identifies the potential problems faced by cryptocurrencies on the way to gaining a dominant position in the money market. The thesis contains also the answer to the question of whether cryptocurrencies can be considered in their present form as money. The last chapter also deals with the examination of how the borrowing in BTC would appear. |
