Functioning of non-profit organizations providing development cooperation described on the example of Banat area cared by People in Need o.p.s

My thesis focuses on the issue of non-governmental organizations providing development cooperation (also development aid, official development assistance or foreign aid). My goal is to analyze, describe and evaluate the activities of the non-governmental organization People in Need in a territory of Romanian Banat. After introducing the issue of official development assistance and a theory of non-governmental organizations, I come through a historical context of a settlement of Banat to a subject of Czech compatriots living here in the six villages. For almost 200 years, the local community has preserved a strong national identity and unique cultural patterns. However, as a result of rural depopulation, it is threatened with extinction. I summarize the forms of aid provided by the Czech Republic and analyze in detail the long-term assistance project cared by People in Need, which aims to preserve the unique expat community in Banat. Through the analysis, my task is to describe how the selected non-governmental organization operates in the surveyed territory, summarize the changes in provided assistance and evaluate its long-term activity.
