| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá historickým i současným chápáním ekonomických krizí a některými jejich možnými příčinami. Hlavním cílem je objasnit krizi Savings and Loan, která vznikla ve Spojených státech amerických v 80. letech a nebyla zcela vyřešena až do poloviny 90. let. Práce definuje funkci regulatorních a dohledových orgánů a institucí pojištění vkladů, jež v USA existovaly či existují a jsou spojené s odvětvím Savings and Loan. Předmětem zkoumání jsou příčiny, jimiž byly například ekonomická destabilizace, deregulace a rizikové a podvodné obchody subjektů na trhu, a dále důsledky, mezi které můžeme zařadit například opětovnou regulaci či obrovské finanční náklady na řešení krize. Nakonec je zde poskytnut pohled na společnost, jejíž případ byl pro tuto krizi typický. |

| Abstract: | The thesis pursues historical and current perceiving of economic crises and some of their possible causes. The main purpose is to clarify the Savings and Loan Crisis, that originated in the United States of America in the 1980s and was not fully resolved until the mid-1990s. The thesis defines functions of the regulatory and supervisory authorities and deposit insurance institutions, which had existed or do exist in the USA and are linked to the Savings and Loan industry. The subject matter are causes, which can be for example economic destabilization, deregulation and high-risk and fraudulent business deals of the market operators, and costs of the crisis, which are for example reregulation and enormous financial costs to resolve the crisis. Lastly there is provided an insight into a Savings and Loan association, whose case was typical for this crisis. |
