| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá procesem Arabského jara z hlediska demokratizačního procesu. Jejím cílem je zhodnotit, zdali bylo Arabské jaro demokratizačním procesem, který skutečně dospěl k demokracii. S tím souvisí i problematika měření demokracie. V první kapitole se práce zabývá demokracií z pohledu pojmosloví, modelů demokracie, problematiky měření demokracie a indexy, které demokracii měří, a přechodem k demokracii dle jednotlivých autorů. Druhá kapitola se týká Arabského jara a jeho okolností a příčin, vymezení pojmu a arabského regionu. Třetí a čtvrtá kapitola analyzuje dvě případové země – Tuniskou republiku a Egyptskou arabskou republiku – z hlediska demokratizačního procesu a demokratizačních změn před Arabským jarem až po začátek roku 2018. |

| Abstract: | The thesis deals with the process of the Arab Spring in terms of the democratization process. Its aim is to evaluate whether the Arab Spring was a democratization process that really came to democracy. This is also related to the issue of the measuring of democracy. In the first chapter, the thesis deals with democracy in terms of concepts, models of democracy, issues of measurement of democracy and indices that are measuring democracy, and the transition to democracy according to individual authors. The second chapter concerns the Arab Spring and its circumstances and causes, the definition of the term and the Arab region. The third and fourth chapters analyse the two case countries - the Republic of Tunisia and the Arab Republic of Egypt - in terms of the democratization process and democratization changes before the Arab Spring until the beginning of 2018. |
