Relationship between CSR activities and the economic performance of selected companies

My diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the relationship between implemented socially responsible activities of selected companies and the impact on their economic results.. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether and how the monitored companies operating on the Czech market incorporate the ideas of the CSR concept into their corporate strategy and how these activities further influence their financial performance. These are specific CSR activities that combine their social contribution with the economic value of businesses, and thus contribute to Creating Shared Value.Based on the analysis of the reports and the assessment of the current situation between these companies, are subsequently proposed possible recommendations, which could gradually lead to improvement.The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, attention is paid to defining the concept of social responsibility, its historical development, related concepts and methods of measurement. The practical part describes the applied CSR activities of selected companies, their basic values in the direction of CSR, the activities within the individual pillars of CSR including concrete examples of implemented projects and their subsequent comparison in relation to the benefits to their economic performance. The data were derived from corporate social responsibility reports or sustainable development reports that are published either individually or as a part of an annual report, or as specialized web sites specifically targeting this issue.
