Comparative analysis of healthcare systems of the Czech Republic, the United States of America and Sweden, with a subsequent focus on the correlation between health expenditures and population morbidity in 1997-2017

| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá analýzou a srovnáním zdravotnických systémů států, které využívají odlišné systémy financování zdravotní péče v letech 1997-2017. Cílem práce je analyzovat, který model zdravotnického systému poskytuje kvalitnější zdravotní služby a který je úspornější. Sekundárním cílem práce je prokázat, zda existuje statistická závislost mezi zdravotnickými výdaji a nemocností obyvatel. V rámci teoretické části jsou představeny základní modely financování zdravotní péče a ekonomické koncepty týkající se ekonomie zdraví. V praktické části práce jsou postupně analyzovány zdravotnické systémy vybraných států a následně jsou komparovány z hlediska výdajové náročnosti a kvality poskytované péče. Nejúspornější zdravotnický systém z vybraných států je v České republice, zatímco nejkvalitnější zdravotní péče je ve Švédsku. V poslední subkapitole praktické části je provedena korelační analýza, která prokazuje, že statistická závislost mezi výdaji na zdravotnictví a nemocností obyvatel existuje. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis deals with the analysis and comparison of the healthcare systems of states that use different systems of health care financing in 1997-2017. The aim of the thesis is to analyze which model of the healthcare system provides better quality health services and which is more economical. The secondary objective of the thesis is to prove whether there is a statistical dependence between health expenditures and sickness of the population. Within the theoretical part are presented basic models of financing of health care and economic concepts related to health economics. In the practical part, the healthcare systems of selected countries are analyzed and then they are compared with regard to the expenditure intensity and the quality of the provided care. The most economical healthcare system in selected countries is in the Czech Republic, while the highest quality health care is in Sweden. In the last section of the practical part there is a correlation analysis, which shows that there is a statistical dependence between the expenditures on health and the morbidity of the population. |
