Procedure for implementation a biometric system into a selected bank

The aim of the diploma thesis is to propose the procedure of introducing a biometric system into a selected bank operating within the Czech Republic. Biometrics will serve primarily in the bank to verify client‘s identity. In the theoretical part, I describe the concept of biometrics and introduce to the reader several important biometric methods. And then I describe the legal framework of biometrics. In the practical part, I focus on choosing the most suitable biometrics for the bank first. I make the selection using my method of biometrics, which, after a minor adjustment, could be also used for other different organization than is the bank. After the evaluation, I find that the most appropriate biometrics for the bank is a biometric signature that receives the final mark of 1.40. The fingerprint receives 1.85 and the iris biometric score is rated 2.20. Then I propose a procedure for introducing a biometric signature into the bank, and I describe if the system could achieve defined goals such as lowering the cost of branch operations or improving interaction with the client during his bank visit. I also mention the advantages, the disadvantages and the risks associated with the selected biometrics method. In the questionnaire survey I investigate whether the bank's clients would be willing to verify and sign the documents using the proposed method. It turnes out that most clients would use this option and the vast majority of respondents would think of the bank as an innovator and promoter of modern technology.
