| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se věnuje komparativní analýze Evropského parlamentu a parlamentu Spolkové republiky Německo. Pomocí komparativní metody zkoumá demokratický deficit těchto dvou institucí, díky čemuž dochází k jiným závěrům oproti tradičním teoretikům zkoumajícím demokratický deficit. Základní hypotézu tvoří předpoklad existence komparativního demokratického deficitu Evropského parlamentu oproti parlamentu Spolkové republiky Německo. V první kapitole představuje teoreticko-metodologická východiska, především Dahlovu teorii polyarchie, z které čerpá základní kritéria srovnání. Druhá a třetí kapitola nastiňují fungování Evropského parlamentu a parlamentu Spolkové republiky Německo. V poslední kapitole jsou tyto parlamenty srovnány podél funkční linie. Na základě komparace byla základní hypotéza existence komparativního demokratického deficitu několikrát zamítnuta a několikrát přijata. |

| Abstract: | Diploma thesis is concerned with comparative analysis of European parliament and the parliament of Germany. Using comparative method it analyses democratic deficit of these two institutions. Thanks to this new approach it comes to different conclusions in comparison with standard research papers. The main hypothesis to be verified is the existence of comparative democratic deficit of the European parliament in comparision with the parliament of Germany. Theory and methodology is instroduced in the first chapter. Most importantly Dahl´s theory of Polyarchy from which the criteria for comparison has been derived. Second and third chapter outline the functioning of the European parliament at first and the German parliament. Those parliaments are compared in the last chapter. Based on the comparative analysis the main hypothesis is rejected in several cases but also accepted in some. |
