Problems of implementing a shared economy platform

This diploma thesis deals with problems that can occur during implementation of platform using principles of shared economy. As a part of the work, the reader is first put into the context of a platform called Spolujídlo.cz. Analysis of main business model (Two-sided market) is carried out for this platform, followed by analysis of other potential business models (Classic Fees, Pay What You Want and Crowdsourcing), using the modeling method and two main tools - Business Model Canvas and Who-What-How-Why. Both mentioned tools and the economic environment of the platform have been enriched in advance by literature research. The modeling method was also used in application programming and described in the text as well. Individual technologies and frameworks used on the backend part of the application (Node.js, Express.js and MongoDB) are characterized firstly, followed by description of the frontend part of the application (Vue.js, Vuetify and Auth0). This part of work is supported by specific snippets of program code. In the context of technical implementation and analysis of business models, specific problems that the author had to overcome are reminded throughout the text. At the end of the thesis all these problems are generalized to provide as much information and lessons as possible to future implementers of a similar project and to expand their knowledge of the shared economy.
