| Abstract: | Diplomová práce Hodnocení peacekeepingových operací: aplikace evaluačního rámce Diehl-Druckman v případové studii Rwanda je jednopřípadovou evaluační studií. Použitý rámec pro toto hodnocení představili autoři Paul F. Diehl a Daniel Druckman v publikaci Evaluating Peace Operations. Práce posuzuje vhodnost tohoto rámce pro Pomocnou misi OSN pro Rwandu (UNAMIR). Genocida, která ve Rwandě propukla počátkem dubna 1994, je podle autorů jasným indikátorem neúspěchu. Tato práce se proto soustředí na časový úsek ohraničený listopadem 1993 a počátkem dubna 1994. Práce ověřuje, zda lze rámec Diehl-Druckman použít i ve velmi krátkodobém horizontu a zda lze misi UNAMIR prohlásit za neúspěšnou již před vypuknutím genocidy. Vzhledem k velkému množství nabízených indikátorů je hodnocení i přes jistá omezení proveditelné. |

| Abstract: | Diploma thesis Evaluating peacekeeping operations: applying evaluative framework Diehl-Druckman in case study Rwanda is a single-case evaluative study. The framework used for this evaluation was introduced in the publication Evaluating Peace Operations by Paul F. Diehl and Daniel Druckman. The thesis assesses the suitability of the framework in the case of United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR). According to the authors, the breakout of genocide at the beginning of April 1994 is a clear indicator of failure. Consequently, the thesis focuses on the time period starting from November 1993 until the beginning of April 1994. The thesis therefore investigates whether the Diehl-Druckman framework can be applied for a very short-term horizon and whether the mission UNAMIR proves to be a failure even before the breakout of the genocide. Due to a plenitude of suggested indicators, it is concluded that the evaluation is possible, however, there are certain restrictions. |
