| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá postojem skotské veřejnosti k vlastní politické nezávislosti na pozadí dvou významných referend odehrávajících se v letech 2014 a 2016. Pomocí analýzy faktorů ovlivňujících voličské preference zjišťuje, jakým způsobem tyto události proměnily vnímání skotského osamostatnění a zaměřuje se na identitární přístup a problematiku evropské tematiky v procesu rozhodování. Mezi hlavní závěry práce patří zjištění, že v průběhu posledních šesti let se změnil přístup Skotů k vnímání vztahů skotské a britské identity, přičemž významnou roli hrály v procesu této změny také ekonomické aspekty. |

| Abstract: | This thesis focuses on Scottish attitude to its independence during the period of two important referenda which took place in 2014 and 2016. Based on the analysis of factors influencing voters´ preferences, it examines how those two referenda changed the attitude towards the independence with the emphasis on collective identities approach, and the role of the EU within this decision-making process. The analysis came to the conclusion that there has been a visible shift in perception of mainly Scottish-British identity relationship, while economic factors also played a crucial role. |
