| Abstract: | Diplomová práce s názvem „Role dezinformací v mezinárodní politice: ruské ovlivňování americké předvolební kampaně 2016“ se zabývá tématem moderního šířením dezinformací v oblasti mezinárodní politiky na studii případu ruských zásahů do průběhu kampaně posledních amerických prezidentských voleb v roce 2016. Informovaní veřejnosti a ovlivňování veřejného mínění má v praxi domácí i mezinárodní politiky dlouhodobou tradici a hraje zásadní roli v naplňování stanovených politických cílů. S vývojem informačních technologií a nástupem nových komunikačních a technologických možností se mění forma a způsoby šíření informací či desinformací a utváření veřejného mínění se stává jednodušším a efektivnějším. Fenomén dezinformací se ve zpracovaném případu stal nebezpečným nástrojem vnějšího informačního vlinu na veřejné mínění amerických voličů a představuje tak novou bezpečnostní hrozbu v zahraniční politice. Na základě teoretického vymezení východisek v první části si práce klade za cíl důkladně zanalyzovat konkrétní případ dezinformační kampaně včetně mechanizmů jejího fungování a reálných příkladů dezinformací. Dále se práce věnuje kvalitativní komparativní analýze zahraniční politiky USA dle bezpečnostních a obranných koncepcí posledních dvou prezidentů a zhodnocení jejích změn v důsledku ruských zásahů v amerických volbách 2016. Přidanou hodnotou této práce je vyhodnocení významu role dezinformací v mezinárodní politice současné informační éry. |

| Abstract: | This thesis titled “The Role of Disinformation in International Politics: The Russian Interference in the 2016 US Elections” deals with a topic of modern dissemination of misinformation in the area of international politics and it focuses on a case study of Russian interference in the 2016 US Elections. Public information and the shaping of public opinion have a long tradition and play a great role in meeting the set political objectives. Development of information technology with new communication and technological tools are changing the ways of spreading information and disinformation which makes the influence on public opinion easier and more effective. Based on this case, the phenomenon of disinformation became a dangerous tool of external influence on the opinion of American voters and it represents a new security threat to the foreign policy. Upon the theoretical definition of the topic in the first part of the thesis, the goal is to thoroughly analyze the case of disinformation campaign including its mechanism and real examples. Moreover, the thesis conducts a qualitative comparative analysis of the US foreign policy based on its security and defence strategies and provides an assessment of the foreign policy changes caused by the Russian interference in the 2016 elections. The added value of this thesis lies in the evaluation of the role of disinformation in international politics of the current information-dominant era. |
