Principles of reporting

This bachelor thesis deals with the principles of reporting. The aim of the thesis is to characterize the elements and the principles of reporting, based on the author's experience which stems from her work in the reporting department at J&T Banka. The first part of the thesis focuses on defining the concept of reporting and its purpose in the company, on the description of report users and their requirements, on the clarification of data protection and visualization. It also categorizes reports by their users (and therefore their purpose), timing, and forms of distribution. The second part of the thesis focuses on the actual creation of reports; therefore it breaks down the report and clarifies its elements, it describes the appropriate requirements, SQL queries and goes through the process of creating a report including a statement verification with the submitter. The thesis also describes the standard solution of a selected report, which is still used today (while adhering to the already forementioned information). The main contribution of the thesis is its theoretical and especially practical focus on reporting.
