Abstract: | Stárnutí populace je v dnešní době ve většině vyspělých zemí světa velice aktuální téma. Je proto nezbytné věnovat tomuto tématu zvýšenou pozornost a vložit maximum úsilí do takových opatření, která by alespoň zmírnila nebo úplně odstranila některé negativní důsledky tohoto demografického procesu, který má dopad jak na jednotlivce, tak i na celou společnost. Práce se zabývá problémem stárnutí populace z hlediska podmínek pro život seniorů se zaměřením na kvalitu života v rámci vybraných států Evropy. V první části jsou definovány termíny s touto problematikou spojené, uvedeny informace o tom, jak se žije seniorům ve vybraných státech a zmíněny největší problémy související s tímto demografickým procesem. Práce si klade za cíl zhodnotit podmínky pro život seniorů napříč Evropou za použití relevantních socioekonomických ukazatelů kvality života, a upozornit na z toho vyplývající nedostatky v jednotlivých státech, které mají nebo mohou mít negativní vliv na kvalitu života seniorů, ale zároveň vyzdvihnout i taková opatření, která mají naopak vliv pozitivní. Na závěr jsou v práci navržena konkrétní možná řešení zlepšení kvality života seniorů pro jednotlivé státy Evropy a uvedeny příklady, ve kterých oblastech by se mohly státy navzájem inspirovat, resp. spolupracovat na přijetí takových společných opatření, která ve svém důsledku povedou k dosažení kvalitnějšího života seniorů. |

Abstract: | The aging of population is a very important issue in most developed countries nowadays. It is therefore necessary to pay attention to this issue and put maximum effort into measures that would at least mitigate or eliminate some of the negative consequences of this demographic process, which affects both individuals and society. The thesis deals with the problem of aging of population in terms of conditions for the life of elderly people with a focus on quality of life in selected European countries. The first part defines terms associated with this issue, provides information on how the elderly people live in selected countries and mentions the biggest problems associated with this demographic process. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the conditions for the life of elderly people throughout of Europe by using relevant socio-economic indicators of quality of life, and to draw attention to the resulting shortcomings in individual countries that have or may have a negative impact on the quality of life of elderly people, but also highlight such measures, which have positive impact. In conclusion, the thesis suggests possible solutions to improving the quality of life of elderly people for individual European countries and gives examples of areas in which some countries could be inspired one of another, respectively which countries could collaborate on adopting common measures that would result in a better quality of life of elderly people. |
